Pastor Michael Veotis Ellison is truly a man after God’s own heart.  He accepted Christ at an early age and has always had a heart for the less fortunate.  He is a mentor and big brother to many young men, putting them on the right path.  Pastor Ellison has been a faithful member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church for many years and was baptized at Zion Hill.

On September 25 of 1994, when he was 30 years old, Pastor Ellison confessed his call to the ministry under the leadership of his pastor, the late-great Pastor Jake Brown, Jr.  He preached his first sermon on October 16, 1994.  He remained under the watchful care and tutelage of Pastor Jake Brown, Jr. who through the guidance of the Holy Spirit mentored him until his home-going on June 21, 2002.  Pastor Brown led by example and instilled in Pastor Ellison, the principles and characteristics of a man worthy of the title, “Pastor”.  He served as interim pastor and after God called Pastor Brown to his eternal home in glory, Pastor Ellison was elected Pastor Brown’s successor.  Then on January 26, 2003, he was installed the proud Pastor of the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church.  Pastor Ellison being a firm believer that a call to preach is a call to prepare, he attended the College of Biblical Studies, and is working towards a Bachelor's Degree from Faith Seminary.

Pastor Ellison is not only the Pastor of Zion Hill, he is also currently a Sergeant with the Harris County Sheriff’s Department, having been employed with them for over 20 years.  He has a wealth of knowledge in Law Enforcement.

Pastor Ellison has been married to his High School sweetheart, Rossiline, for over 24 years.  They have two children, Shannae and Michael II, and one son-in-law, Anthony Mathis.

Pastor Ellison has a deep faith in God.  His passion and love for God, is exemplified in his sacrifice, commitment and love for God’s people.  It is with great anticipation and dedication that the members of Zion Hill work along side of Pastor Ellison as God brings His vision, plan and purpose for Zion Hill to fruition.
